Caveman
Concept:
After discovering the existence of the ancient cave
paintings of Altamira, I was inspired to do a paper sculpture. The
starting point for this piece was incorporating some of those cave paintings as
a background. Although the cave paintings were the inspiration, the visual
composition is the dark cavern rocks opening up to the lighted chamber
containing the paintings. The explorer is a presenter of the paintings and
was modeled after Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones.
There is also a tiny yellow bulb to illuminate the torch.
