The Dark Knight Returns
"It
was tough work, carrying two hundred and twenty pounds of sociopath to the top
of Gotham Towers - the highest spot in the city.
The
scream alone is worth it"

Concept:
This
is my 100th paper sculpture project, and I wanted to do something unique.
I've always wanted to have a tribute page with examples of artwork that inspire
me, such as caricaturists Herschfeld and Risko. I plan on doing
paper sculpture versions of some of these great artists every time I reach a
milestone with my artwork. I will not offer any of these for sale, because
the designs belong to the original artist. These pieces are for my own enjoyment
and for others to appreciate. The Dark Knight Returns is a graphic novel
about a 50 year old Batman who comes out of retirement. It was published
in 1986 and had a profound effect on my artistic sensibilities. I was
amazed that a comic book could be this good. This is a tribute to the
author and artist of The Dark Knight Returns - Frank Miller.
